Short version: Past Warranty sets no cookies of its own, has no login, no newsletter, and no comment section. The only thing that reaches a database is what you type into the form on the contact page, and only if you send it.

Analytics

Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It does not set an identifier in your browser and does not follow you to other sites. What it records is aggregate: which pages were viewed, roughly where from, and what kind of device. None of it identifies a person.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs for security and abuse prevention. Those logs are Cloudflare's, held undertheir privacy policy, and this site's operator does not read or export them.

The feedback form

If you send an owner report or a correction, the form stores exactly these fields:

• the message you wrote
• which kind of report you picked, and the page you sent it from
• model year and mileage, if you filled them in
• your email address, only if you chose to give one
• a two-letter country code, derived from the request — not your IP address
• the date and time it arrived

Your IP address is not stored. The message is read by one person and used to check a number against its source or to decide what to go back and look at in the NHTSA data. Owner reports are not published as quotes, and an email address is used only to reply to you about that report. Nothing here is sold, shared, or added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.

Want yours deleted? Say so through the same form, or reply to the email you got back, and it's removed.

Advertising

There are no ads on this site today. That is likely to change — the plan is to run display advertising through Google AdSense. When it does, third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites, and this page will say so in the present tense before any ad code goes live.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google atGoogle Ads Settings, and out of third-party vendors' cookies ataboutads.info/choices.

Links out

Guides link to NHTSA, manufacturer media sites, IIHS, and sales-tracking sites so you can check the numbers yourself. Those sites have their own policies and this one does not control them.

Children

This site is for people shopping for used cars and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them.

Changes

If what's collected changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions about any of it go through the contact page.
