About
Past Warranty covers used cars one model year at a time. Every guide pairs the manufacturer's own specifications with the complaints owners actually filed with NHTSA — how many, about what, and in what order.
How these are built
Specifications come from manufacturer media sites, never from secondary listings. Complaint counts and quotes come from the public NHTSA database, retrieved on the date listed at the bottom of each guide, with ODI numbers attached so you can pull up the original filing yourself.
Complaint databases are lopsided by design — nobody files a report to say their car has been fine. Each guide states the sales figure alongside the complaint count so the numbers have a denominator, and calls out what owners aren't complaining about.
What you won't find
No buying recommendations, no price or depreciation predictions, no repair walkthroughs, and nothing about registration or financing rules, which vary by state. These guides tell you what to check and what to ask. What to decide is yours.
